About The Position

ADM is seeking agile, forward-thinking, and bold individuals for its Operations Leadership Development Process (OLDP) Engineer program to help shape the future of operations at ADM. This program combines challenging work at locations across the United States with structured training and networking opportunities, designed to develop the next generation of leaders for ADM’s Global Operations team. Participants will gain firsthand experience of how ADM's manufacturing capabilities, expertise, and expansive footprint add value throughout the supply chain. They will be mentored by senior ADM operations and commercial leaders while honing leadership skills through various projects and assignments. The program features a rotational format with three, 9-month rotations in different ADM facilities, offering exposure to multiple business facets (oilseeds, corn, soy, specialty ingredients, etc.) at both large and small facilities. Rotational participants will work on cross-functional teams to execute capital or optimization projects, identify challenges, and implement solutions to improve efficiency, cost, and environmental impact. ADM provides extensive training programs, educational opportunities, and career development discussions to support personal development. Upon completion of the 27-month rotational program, participants will have the opportunity to work in a permanent full-time role within one of ADM’s North American facilities.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a four-year degree with an expected graduation date between December 2027 and summer 2029.
  • Minimum overall GPA of 2.8.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from the assigned work location.
  • Willingness to relocate to an ADM location in North America.
  • Must be available for a 12-week internship from mid-May through early August 2027.
  • Successful completion of a background check is required.
  • ADM is unable to provide work visa sponsorship for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures the safety of all personnel through compliance with occupational safety and health regulations; demonstrates safety leadership through participation in all safety processes with a goal of zero injuries.
  • Proactively learns from facility management to improve employee safety, production quality, equipment reliability, and overall facility effectiveness.
  • Rotate through multiple functional areas (e.g., corn, oilseeds, specialty ingredients, milling, etc.) to gain broad exposure to ADM’s full portfolio of assets.
  • Lead short-term projects to improve operational efficiency, safety, or product quality.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret data to support decision-making and process improvements.
  • Participate in daily production meetings and contribute to problem-solving discussions.
  • Develop and present reports, project updates, and recommendations to leadership.
  • Learn and apply company safety and compliance standards across departments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, supply chain, finance, HR) to deliver business results.
  • Participate in structured leadership training, mentorship, and career development activities.
  • Support equipment reliability projects, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Contribute to innovation efforts, such as automation, sustainability, and digital transformation projects.
  • Prepare for future leadership roles by building skills in communication, decision-making, and team management.
  • Complete additional duties based on the needs of the assigned location.
