About The Position

ATI is seeking a Process Engineering Intern for its Lockport Operations for summer 2027. The intern will support engineering and operations teams in a heavy industrial metals manufacturing environment. The internship is designed for students pursuing a degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or a related technical field. The intern will assist with process improvement projects, production support, data analysis, troubleshooting, and technical initiatives intended to improve safety, quality, productivity, and cost performance. Potential work includes supporting manufacturing processes such as melting, re-melting, or inspection; evaluating process data and parameters; participating in plant trials and improvement projects; and helping implement process changes and safety improvements. The position involves work in office and heavy industrial manufacturing environments, including production areas, laboratories, and technical office settings. Personal protective equipment is required in designated areas. Conditions may include noise, heat, moving equipment, chemicals, and other hazards commonly found in a heavy industrial metals manufacturing facility. The intern will gain hands-on experience in industrial process engineering, metals manufacturing, production support, technical troubleshooting, data analysis, and continuous improvement.
