About The Position

At GAF Commercial, we are building the market leader in commercial roofing and are looking for a Process Engineer to help lead the execution of Quality and Process Improvement projects and activities. This role will utilize standard PI tools such as Qualpro, MVT/DOE, and Kepner Tregoe PSDM. The engineer will prioritize using a Hierarchy of values (Safety, Quality, Service, Cost) and will manage plans and execute capital improvements resulting from these projects. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is offered for this position at our Newton location.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • 5+ years process engineering experience
  • Must have the ability to lead a team
  • Works well in difficult and time pressure situations
  • Demonstrated knowledge of engineering fundamentals
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, PLC and AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

  • Lead process design reviews, raw material qualification and product and process qualification and capability studies.
  • Performs PPA/FMEA on all major process and raw material changes.
  • Train production personnel on Statistical process Control (SPC).
  • Leads the application and interpretation of SPC charting.
  • Train and educates personnel on company products, plant and corporate quality policies and procedures; including internal and external personnel, suppliers and customers.
  • Conduct internal compliance audits of production tests, process specifications, plant change notices (PCN’s) and other in-plant processes.
  • Coordinate Plant Trials with R&D and plant personnel.
  • Ensures trials are accurately conducted and reported.
