About The Position

Under the direction of the Manager of Process Engineering, the Process Engineer – Level II is responsible for developing solutions to production problems relating to safety, processes and tooling. The incumbent supports new programs by developing manufacturing processes. As a key member of Weber Metals, your duties include but are not limited to: Demonstrating the importance of the Weber Metals Safety Policy, Quality Policy, Environmental Policy, and Business Management System to the success of Weber Metals. Working in a team environment to meet target dates.

Requirements

  • Must be able to comply with ITAR and EAR residency requirements.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and fluent in English.
  • Must have strong analytical/problem solving skills.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and machining practices, mechanical design, finite element analysis, strength of materials and failure modes required.
  • Must be able to read blueprints and prepare drawings and layouts.
  • Ability to complete product definition, including geometric dimensioning and tolerance.
  • Experience in designing mechanical components, fixtures and tooling.
  • Computer skills (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint,).
  • 3D CAD experience (CATIA is preferred).
  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or other related engineering discipline plus 2-5 years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment. (Forging Preferred), or a combination of an A.A. Degree in technical discipline plus 7-10 years of forging experience.

  • CATIA is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates manufacturing processes in the factory/Hand and Die forging processes.
  • Develops, evaluates and improves manufacturing methods.
  • With minimal supervision, collaborates with other departments within Weber Metals Engineering to ensure successful: Product design, Forging materials, Fabrication processes, Tooling and production equipment capabilities, Assembly methods for dies, clamp systems and holders, and Quality control standards.
  • Applies statistical methods to drive process and product improvements.
  • Analyzes, designs, and plans: Workspace requirements, Workflow, Equipment layout, Maximize efficiency, Provide information for management decisions, Estimate production times, and Staffing requirements and related costs.
  • Advises Methods Tech’s and Process Engineer I employees regarding departmental practices.
  • Directly contacts and coordinates with outside vendors for requirements such as equipment, materials and parts and verifying product specifications.
  • Other duties as assigned.
