About The Position

The Process Engineer is responsible for sustaining existing product lines (Photo Diodes, GaAs IC, Si Transistors, GaN/SiC, etc.) and developing new processes within these areas in the MACOM wafer fab.

Requirements

  • BS or MS degree in Engineering with a minimum of 3 years of experience in semiconductor process engineering.
  • Specific experience in plasma etch technology – RIE / ICP
  • Solid understanding of data mining and statistics, SPC and DOE, Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and structured problem solving.
  • Proven track record of solving technical problems, project ownership, meeting deadlines, and multitasking.
  • Strong sense of ownership, enthusiasm, optimism, drive, and dedication to the improvement of the process area.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross functional teams to improve processes.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills, including technical writing for summarizing data and findings, writing process and equipment specifications and work instructions.
  • Detail-oriented and strong organizational skills.
  • Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, U.S. national, lawful permanent resident, or individual granted asylum or refugee status) due to ITAR regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Sustains the dry etch area (RIE/ICP/CAIBE) to meet all factory indicators.
  • Plans and conducts experiments to fully characterize the process throughout the development cycle.
  • Drives improvements on quality, reliability, cost, yield, process stability/capability, productivity and safety/ergonomic over variables such as material, method, equipment, environment and operating personnel.
  • Develops solutions to problems utilizing formal education, statistical knowledge, and problem-solving tools.
