About The Position

The Development Assembly Process Engineer is responsible for supporting the Commercial and Military development engine programs within West Palm Beach Development Operations. This role focuses on creating and maintaining work instructions, providing assembly-floor support, and executing projects aligned with business objectives. The Process Engineer will also apply strong business acumen to drive Lean manufacturing practices, support CORE (Customer Oriented Results and Excellence) initiatives, and continuously improve development processes.

Requirements

  • A degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and at least 2 years of related experience (unless prohibited by local regulations), or an advanced degree in a related field.
  • US Citizenship is required due to government contracts
  • Technical proficiency in complex manufacturing operations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and experience using Minitab or other statistical software.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • Manufacturing experience, ideally in gas turbine Assembly & Test.
  • Training and experience in LEAN, Continuous Improvement, CORE, or Six Sigma.
  • Experience with SAP ERP, Solumina MES, or similar manufacturing work instruction systems.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain development work instructions, while building and refining process engineering proficiency.
  • Collaborate with various Engineering disciplines to understand, plan, and execute development build requirements.
  • Support commercial and military engine builds and teardowns on the assembly floor.
  • Lead and promote data‑driven root cause analysis, including the use of corrective action tools to support DIVE investigations.
  • Support all EH&S (Environment, Health & Safety) initiatives—including PRA, Work-Fit, and ergonomics—by ensuring safe processes across development assembly operations.
  • Drive product cost reduction initiatives and ensure cost targets are met through process improvements and the adoption of new technologies.
