About The Position

Howmet Aerospace, Engines currently seeks a dynamic Process Engineer to fill the role of Process Owner - Core! The position will be located in Whitehall, Michigan across our Plants 1 and 3, and 10 as part of the Whitehall Casting Operation. This role requires a systems thinker who sees the business and its operation holistically, understands actions and reactions, and considers multiple pathways of potential effect before decisions. The ideal candidate is an optimizer, constantly challenging the organization to work smarter and supporting others to ensure they have what they need to do their work successfully. Anticipation is key, looking ahead to minimize potential issues and maximize advantages, and preparing others for what comes next. As an operational accelerator, this role drives continuous improvement, understands the ramifications of automation and other advances, and advocates for safety, ergonomics, and scalable solutions. The Process Owner works within existing structures while striving to improve and standardize them, provides accurate information, and galvanizes others toward common goals. Influence is leveraged through knowledge, relationships, data, and perspective to persuade, educate, and navigate, gaining buy-in and adoption of ideas and practices at scale. Interaction with a variety of stakeholders is expected. The role is data-informed, focused on things that drive quantifiable business outcomes, evaluates based on quantitative feedback, and knows and explains the “why” behind actions. Prioritized reaction involves handling the unexpected without losing sight of important objectives and reacting where greatest leverage points exist. Building relationships is crucial, connecting individually and with teams across shifts and practices, building rapport and commonality, creating a “win together” ethic, serving as a liaison between the shop floor and engineering, keeping the pulse of the floor, and helping people feel heard.
