About The Position

Perform Root Cause Analysis on chronic product problems and implement corrective/preventive actions which result in meeting plant goals. Monitor process performance through metrics such as RFT, MME, OEE, cost productivity, customer complaints, Waste Indices and act as required to correct adverse trends, performing plant-based process investigations. Identify, design, coordinate and employ statistical evaluations utilizing the ASQ Body of Knowledge including MSA, DOE, Capability Analysis, and Root Cause Analysis. Provide quality and manufacturing support as required to meet specific program needs. Assist in developing and implementing plant-wide Quality Management System (QMS). Assist in specification development and/or changes as requested. Actively deploy ALPS foundations and ALPS Quality Management primary processes, with high priority. Provide expertise for on-site operations group during process related troubleshooting issues, being hands-on with production operators/quality techs. For capital projects, executes process studies, contributes to pre-projects and performs initial project scoping and business case development, handing over to project group for execution (except minor projects, <500k). During project execution, play major role in commissioning, start-up and training, and then owning technology for site. Work on multiple concurrent projects at any time varying from small to large ($500K) in scope.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Process Engineering or related field of study and 5 years of progressive experience with any combination of CI (Continuous Improvement), Process Engineering and Controls Engineering, with 1 year in industrial coatings and chemical manufacturing processes.
  • Applicants must have demonstrated experience with: 1) working with chemicals used in industrial coatings and chemical manufacturing, and the machinery and computer systems that support coatings and chemical manufacturing.
  • Six Sigma and Lean experience.
  • SAP or ERP experience.
  • execution use of Safe Work Permit (PTW), Management of Change (MOC), and OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) requirements.
