About The Position

The Process Engineer Co-Op will be responsible for offering support to the plant technical and maintenance staff with advanced problem solving, data generation and analysis, performing calculations and evaluations on a variety of plant processes and driving continual process optimization improvements. Support engineering and quality related plant requirements and needs. Performing various studies and evaluations to determine necessary plant improvements and opportunities: Mass and Energy Balances, Root Cause Analysis and other projects as needed. Communicate with various levels of personnel including management, plant operators, engineers, lab personnel and contractors. Support Safety and Environmental initiatives that keeps employees and the environment protected. Participate in prioritization of work based upon occupational and process safety, production, rate of return, and regulatory requirements. Adhering to MLC's Mission, Core Values and Key Competencies

Requirements

  • Sophomore level or higher pursuing a bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical or Mining Engineering
  • 2.75 GPA or Higher
  • Ability to function in an industrial chemical and mining environment
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and implement learned processes and procedures
  • Ability to effectively work and communicate with employees as all levels within the organization
  • Maintaining a clean work environment and comply with all safety and environmental policies
  • Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong verbal, written and listening skills
