About The Position

Appraises technological developments and investigates the feasibility of applying new techniques and processes to the organization. Prepares cost estimates and written technical proposals to demonstrate business viability with direct assistance. Assists with the Integration of equipment and materials capabilities to meet process module target specifications and technology target specifications Assists with prototypes and scale-up prototypes to test for manufacturing and quality issues. Creates (under supervision) automation and machine design machine specification requirements including automation, material flow, design constraints, 3D drawing design, wiring, programming, safety features and sourcing to be submitted for peer review. Supports the troubleshooting of design errors, omissions, and other deficiencies to proactively recommend revisions and/or improvements through machine design review. May support or troubleshoot legacy processes and equipment and works with Maintenance, IT, Production, Industrial Engineers, Japan Group Companies, Product Design, Quality Engineering, and others to support processes. Supports project team to produce introduce new products and processes. Is actively learning to track project budgets and schedules and makes adjustments as needed to reach goals. Participates with the development of long-term plans (annual plan, action plan) with respect to job implementation. Updates documentation specifying equipment requirements including process control specification or control plan, PFMEA, PFD, or others as required. Utilizes statistical methods to evaluate and control manufacturing processes including capability, MSA, DoE, process mapping, or others listed in DENSO Machine Standards. Utilizes standard software programs to automate data capture and analyzes data to optimize and smooth performance levels. Gathers, summarizes, and reports technical information to specific audiences. Acts as a technical point of contact for customer service with chain of command support. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
  • 0-3 years in Manufacturing Engineering in and Engineering role.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Experience leading projects and CFT's
  • Proven development of processes, product and equipment from concept to implementation
  • Analytical & troubleshooting skills.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office products (including Excel, Word, Power Point, & Access) is a must! Other knowledge requirements include robotics programming, PLC programming, AutoCAD, & SolidWorks.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in successful development of multiple new product launches preferred
  • Work experience in manufacturing operations preferred (Automation, Automated vision inspection, Soldering, TIG Welding, or Laser Welding)
