Process Development Senior Scientist

Amgen•Cambridge, MA
•$126,066 - $170,560

About The Position

The Process Development Senior Scientist is responsible for inventing, developing, and implementing drug substance manufacturing processes and technologies for Amgen’s synthetic and hybrid assets. Process chemists use their synthetic training to create synthetic routes and chemical processes that support drug substance manufacturing from early- through late-stage development. The role advances enabling technologies to accelerate pharmaceutical development and improve sustainability and process efficiency. It supports cGMP manufacturing and technology transfer to internal manufacturing facilities and external contract manufacturers, and ensures process performance through process understanding, modeling, and characterization. The scientist contributes experimental results, technical updates, documentation, data interpretation, and recommendations to drug substance development teams; works cross-functionally on regulatory documents and filings; serves as a technical expert in organic and process chemistry; and advances projects and studies independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
