About The Position

The Process Dev Engineering Scientific Associate will be part of a team responsible for process development and optimization, as well as characterization of cell product for ongoing and future projects. This role supports the development of robust, scaled upstream or downstream production processes and methods for cell and gene therapy projects. It also participates in aspects of technology transfer to manufacturing and CDMOs, as required, and supports a cross-functional team to facilitate the success of projects. The associate will utilize an understanding of molecular, cell biology, and engineering techniques when troubleshooting typical problems and apply basic statistical principles to guide process optimization and characterization. Experiments and data analyses will be executed and documented in support of process improvement with some supervision. The role also supports technical reports, regulatory filings, source documents, patents, and external publications. The associate will work within departmental teams, support deliverables, and participate in team discussions on experimental planning and issue resolution. This position participates in a weekend work rotation with the broader team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific/engineering field is required
  • Typically requires 0-2 years experience with a Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Good communication of technical/scientific information within a team
  • Effective at working as a member of a multidisciplinary team
  • Good organizational skills and high attention to detail

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with cell culture and aseptic technique preferred
