Process Development Associate Scientist

Amgen•Cambridge, MA
•$90,443 - $122,363

About The Position

The Process Development Associate Scientist develops cell culture and purification manufacturing processes for Amgen’s late-stage pipeline, with a focus on recombinant proteins. The work aims to improve production yields, evaluate process robustness through process characterization, and transfer processes to manufacturing. Other experiments may include facility fit and raw material evaluation. The role contributes to drug substance process development in a team environment. It involves mammalian cell culture experiments at different scales using shake flasks and bioreactors, as well as purification experiments—primarily filtration and chromatography—at bench and pilot scale as needed. The Associate Scientist documents experimental data in lab notebooks, analyzes and presents data to the team, authors technical reports, supports regulatory filings as needed, and contributes to technology development projects focused on continuous improvements in reliability and efficiency.
