Your Opportunity Stantec is looking for a Process Engineer Intern to join our Process Facilities Design team for the summer of 2026 based out of the Plymouth, MN area. In this role, you will work closely with engineers, designers, and business professionals primarily on industrial and/or food-based projects.

Requirements

  • Able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with both clients and project team members, with a strong customer service attitude.
  • Strong analytical skills and good attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies.
  • Strong organizational skills for maintaining project files and information received from clients and vendors.
  • Basic understanding of task hour estimating and being accountable for personal hour budgets.
  • Must be able to meet deadlines and put in the time needed to get the job done.
  • Currently enrolled in a four-year (minimum) engineering program in an appropriately related discipline, such as chemical, process, food, bio-products.

Nice To Haves

  • 0-2 years of relevant engineering intern experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Process Engineering team including development of Mass & Energy Balance, Process Flow Diagrams, Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams, Equipment sizing and selection, etc.
  • Coordination with multi-discipline design teams.
