About The Position

Genentech specializes in biologics with incredibly complex processes requiring high-level engineering. The Process Engineering department is the bridge that allows the introduction of processes and equipment to its large-scale production for patients. We collaborate with Quality and Technical groups to ensure we deliver safe, pure, and effective medicine. This internship position is located in Oceanside, on-site.

Requirements

  • Required Education: You meet one of the following criteria: Must be pursuing or have attained an Associate's Degree. Must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree (enrolled student).
  • Required Majors: Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry or related fields.
  • Required Skills: Proficient in Windows OS and diverse computer-based systems.
  • Strong foundational grasp of STEM principles, including Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry.
  • Technical expertise in core engineering concepts, with a specialized focus on Fluid Mechanics.
  • Comprehensive understanding of biopharmaceutical manufacturing processes and regulatory standards.
  • Articulate communicator capable of delivering high-impact presentations and technical reports.
  • Self-motivated with a proven ability to manage complex assignments independently.
  • Highly organized with a focus on strategic.

Responsibilities

  • May assist perform process design services for facility projects, equipment upgrading and replacement.
  • May assist engineering personnel in conducting studies and engineering calculations.
  • May assist engineering personnel in generating supporting documents.
  • May assist engineering in auditing engineering documents, such as P&IDs.
  • May assist engineering personnel in gathering data for process monitoring.
