About The Position

This is a safety-sensitive role where performance directly impacts safety. The Process Controls Programmer will lead the design, implementation, and optimization of FactoryTalk Batch systems and batch cleaning processes. They will develop scalable batch recipes and automation strategies from process requirements, and integrate and standardize automation with other platforms (PLCs, HMI, MES), ensuring compliance and traceability. The role involves troubleshooting complex automation issues, driving process improvements, and providing technical leadership, mentorship, and support for major projects. The programmer will also uphold safety standards and company values, and assist with other tasks as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (electrical, chemical, controls) and 12+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent education/experience.
• Expertise with Rockwell Automation PLCs, FactoryTalk Batch/View, and ISA-88.
• Strong skills in chemical process automation (batching, dosing, mixing, transfer).
• Experience with CIP/SIP cleaning systems and historian/reporting platforms.
• Ability to read technical drawings and process documents.
• Knowledge of OSHA and industrial safety practices.
• Strong communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Preferred experience in consumer products, chemicals, food, or regulated manufacturing.
• Experience with MES and version control tools preferred.
