About The Position

This role is responsible for procuring and launching new and major programs for controls engineering. The engineer will maintain working contacts with vendors, GM IT, other internal engineering disciplines, and management at plant and headquarters. They will diagnose and correct deficiencies in manufacturing processes, stay abreast of new controls technology (robotics, computer graphics, computer controls like CNC, PLC, PC, HMI, networks), and support the deployment of new technology to minimize risks. The position involves evaluating manufacturing processes and equipment, performing simultaneous engineering activities with ME and equipment supplier representatives, and supporting the development of ME error proofing plans. Participation in safety g-Risk activities with a cross-functional group, supporting approval of controls drawings, and conducting controls run-offs at OEM sites are also key duties. The engineer will solve and assist with operational problems, support and actively interact with the manufacturing operations group, and support the deployment of best common systems and methods as defined in the PT Global Controls Bill of Process. The role aims to continuously improve quality, cost, responsiveness, and safety. This is a hybrid position requiring 3 days in-office and 2 days remote, with the ability to report to the local office.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field
  • One (1) year of experience as an Electrical Engineer, Engineering Lead, Process Controls Engineer, or related role
  • One (1) year of experience with Process engineering
  • One (1) year of experience with Rockwell Automation, Siemens PLC, and HMIs
  • One (1) year of experience with Improving manufacturing output
  • One (1) year of experience with Cognex and Matrox Vision system programming
  • One (1) year of experience with Allen Bradley factory automation equipment
  • One (1) year of experience with Scheduling preventative maintenance for manufacturing line equipment
  • One (1) year of experience with AutoCAD
  • Experience with Fanuc robot programming
