About The Position

Design, build, and troubleshoot electrical control and robotic systems for machinery and equipment that manufacture best-in-class and tech-forward vehicles. Analyze product, process, and technology to craft best methods to assemble packs, and protect the manufacturing process. Support design, construction, integration for new projects and RESS pack main line programs with a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency. Ensure successful launch and support continuous improvement of equipment and tools required in plants to produce high-quality products. Collaborate with suppliers and internal partners to manage program deliverables. Provide technical direction to suppliers. Design and troubleshoot electrical controls systems to existing programs at manufacturing sites. Lead automation projects for RESS PML areas and support launches at components plants. Engineer, design, develop and approve Bill of Materials (BOMs) and Bills of Equipment (BOEs) for battery pack manufacturing plant equipment and controls devices. Evaluate progress of PLC-based machinery builds at supplier plants. 25% domestic and international travel required. Hybrid Work Policy - 3 days In-office, 2 days remote - Must be able to report to local office.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field of study
  • Two years of experience as a Controls Engineer, Automation Engineer, Systems Engineer, Electrical Engineer, or related role.
  • Experience with Manufacturing equipment electrical and control systems, ensuring equipment safety design and build compliance with Safety Integrity Level/Performance Level (SIL/PL), ISO, ANSI, and IEC standards
  • Experience utilizing Eplan for hardware design
  • Experience with Rockwell Studio 5000 for PLC programming
  • Experience with IECN networks to integrate with upper-level IT systems within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with Mechanical concepts of Layout and Bill of process involving machine designs, process requirements involved in the manufacturing process
  • Experience with Programmable Logic Controller (PLC -Rockwell Studio 5000) and Human Machine Interface (HMI-Siemens TIA Portal), programming, and Ethernet and DeviceNet networks
  • Experience with Servo motors, motion control, and drives and vision
  • Experience with Fanuc robots setup and programming
  • Experience Designing and troubleshooting electrical controls systems
  • Experience Interpreting engineering drawings in EPLAN and Autocad
  • Experience learning new system and emerging technologies including AI and machine learning in manufacturing
  • Experience Integrating and debugging PLC Interfaces logic for Vision, drives, and Robots
