About The Position

Micron Technology is seeking a Process Control Systems Engineer to develop, deploy, and sustain Run-to-Run (R2R) and Fault Detection and Classification (FDC) strategies that protect process stability, yield, and quality across wafer fabrication. The engineer partners with manufacturing, engineering, and information systems teams at the assigned site and with counterparts worldwide. Micron welcomes candidates who are interested in growing their technical breadth and depth as part of a collaborative team. The role involves defining control requirements with manufacturing and engineering customers; developing and maintaining R2R controllers and FDC strategies; analyzing performance and process data; implementing enhancements and fixes using AMAT E3; configuring data collection; troubleshooting systems and communications; investigating process excursions; and driving corrective actions. The engineer also follows global business rules and best known methods, manages and documents changes, delivers training, shares lessons learned, and may lead small teams on quality and cost-improvement projects.

  • Experience leading small technical teams or projects and delivering training to end users.
  • Experience and/or interest in developing Agentic AI workflows into current or future processes.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with manufacturing and engineering customers to define control requirements and select appropriate R2R and FDC solutions.
  • Develop, deploy, and maintain R2R controllers and FDC strategies, including data collection, limits, and out-of-control action plans (OCAPs).
  • Monitor controller and strategy performance and analyze data to improve existing control methods.
  • Use AMAT E3 to implement strategy enhancements and bug fixes, and develop smaller R2R code modules or sub-strategies.
  • Configure data collection and troubleshoot strategy, tool, system, and communication issues across Host, CIM, and Sigma.
  • Investigate process variation and excursions, identify root causes, and drive corrective actions.
  • Follow worldwide business rules and best known methods (BKMs), manage changes through change management, and document strategies and changes.
