About The Position

Resinall Corp, an Ergon company currently has an opening for a Process Control Engineer at our Hattiesburg, Mississippi location.location. The Process Control Engineer role supports the process engineering function by programing, maintaining, and stiving to optimize all process control systems and associated documentation for the Resinall Hattiesburg location. Requirements

  • BS degree in chemical or electrical engineering or computer science.
  • A minimum of 1 years' experience in project management in a petrochemical environment is recommended.
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and Microsoft Project is recommended.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
  • A clean MVR is required.

Responsibilities

  • Configure and maintain all PCs and servers (including PLC controls and HMI's when needed) that are associated with process control networks
  • Configure and maintain process control graphics in ABB Freelance
  • Configure and maintain all process control networks (Profibus) and associated documentation
  • Maintain the tag database for the ABB trend server system
  • Maintain process control narratives and alarm database documentation.
  • Maintain inventory of DCS and SIS spare parts needed for repairs (this may include DCS/SIS cards, Turck Cables, Bricks (junction boxes), conduit adapters and other such equipment that require periodic replacement when issues occur), and any necessary HMIs or PC's as spares.
  • Work with Operations group to understand current and future processes and use these details to improve the control logic and add any new control logic when needed.
  • Work with Process Engineering and Operations groups to design, modify, and tune process control loops in ABB Freelance
  • Work with Resinall IT department to safely and securely maintain communication between the ABB Freelance DCS and other types of Data Analytics Software and clients to allow remote information access.
  • Work with IEC and Project Engineering groups to install and troubleshoot new and existing instrumentation or control devices (such as PT, TT, flow meters, automated valves and equipment) and develop effective control logic for DCS to take full advantage of these items.
  • Manage and work with contractors on projects that involve DCS wiring, instrumentation, new equipment installation and communication, networking, configuration or other items related to the DCS system in any way.
  • Participate in meetings (MOC, PHA's or other meetings) where process control is involved
