Become proficient in navigating and programming the assigned DCS systems through on the job training and self-study. Learn the basics of the DCS hardware, including I/O modules, controllers, servers, and the control network. Learn the basics of the assigned unit chemical process through on the job training and self-study. Assist Process Control Engineer in drafting MOC’s for DCS changes and building code and graphics on the DCS Simulator to test them. Propose modifications to DCS/Systems equipment that improve plant performance, safety, or reliability, and reduce costs. Monitor and address DCS alarms, update alarm surveys, propose fixes, and work with unit engineers to execute action items. Meet with DCS Manager weekly and issue progress reports biweekly.
