This position supports the Interventional Pulmonary Clinical Program by coordinating diagnostic and therapeutic regimes for patients for 4 to 6 physicians. Coordinates diagnostic and therapeutic regimes for patients. Interacts with patients to explain diagnoses, procedures, and treatments. Conducts routine procedures and collects data. Coordinates physician activities with referring physicians, nursing staff, hospital administration, ancillary services, support services, insurance companies, other departments/sections, and agencies as needed. Serves as a liaison with patients, families, staff nurses, physicians, and other members of the team and serves as a consultant for patients and staff in the specialty area. Provides complex nursing care to patients and families as part of the discharge process. Assists Interventional Procedures Program with scheduling, coordinating care and performance of airway and pleural interventions for both inpatients and outpatients in operating room.
