About The Position

The primary duty of the Registered Nurse is to monitor and care for the patient during Interventional Radiology and Vascular procedures. The nurse also liaises between the patient, healthcare providers, and family. The nurse is to be familiar with the overall function(s) of the Interventional Radiology and Vascular specialty. Part-time position with an expected commitment of 2–3 procedure coverage days per week.

  • BSN required
  • Two years of moderate sedation administration and recovery required.
  • Current license to practice nursing in the current location state.
  • Minimum of six months of recent experience as a professional nurse.
  • ACLS/BLS required.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of experience in Interventional Radiology or Cath Lab, preferred.
  • Experience in Pre-Op/PACU, CV, and ICU preferred.
  • Experience in Interventional Radiology and/or Cath Lab preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises care given by nonprofessional staff and provides instruction as needed.
  • Prepare patients for procedures, including checking vital signs
  • Analyze lab results and medical history
  • Provide education to the patient and family members
  • Insert and remove IV lines
  • Administer drugs, including moderate sedation
  • Monitor patient patterns and vital signs during the procedure
  • Oversee the safety and comfort of patients
  • Provide post-procedure monitoring
  • Other duties as assigned within the scope of practice
  • Conduct pre-operative phone calls to review instructions, medications, arrival times, and answer patient questions.
  • Perform post-operative follow-up calls to assess patient recovery, reinforce discharge instructions, and address questions or concerns
  • Circulate in the operating room to support the surgical team, including the surgeon, anesthesia team, and radiology technologists, ensuring efficient workflow and patient safety
