About The Position

The Prince William County Criminal Justice Services is an Evidence Based Practices Agency and a fast paced, growing, family style organization that promotes public safety. We strive to reduce victimization, break the cycle of crime, and contribute to community restoration by incorporating the use of Evidence Based Practices into our supervision of pretrial and probation clients. We are currently seeking a highly motivated individual with exceptional interpersonal skills for a career opportunity for a Probation/Pretrial Manager. The candidate for this position will manage the day-to-day operations of an agency division and serve as the team leader mentoring/coaching and training staff. Other duties include providing quality assurance by conducting periodic case reviews that involve reviewing staff's use of risk assessments, development and oversight of case plans and general case management of pretrial and probation cases. This position also pulls and interprets information from several Criminal Justice databases and assists other team leaders with compiling information on performance measures for the agency and staff. The candidate will also support, assist and collaborate with other managers within the agency and stakeholders in our community as well as across the state. This position will require the incumbent to work non-standard hours to include overnights and weekends.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • 7 years of related experience in probation or pretrial services.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in criminology, psychology, social services, counseling, or a related field.
  • At least 7 years of experience related to probation or pretrial services.
  • Experience supervising clients in the community and conducting case management.
  • Strong customer service skills and experience giving presentations.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in both writing and speaking.
  • Experience collaborating with criminal justice and judicial agencies, as well as community stakeholders within Prince William County or the Virginia Criminal Justice System.

Responsibilities
