About The Position

Riverside Community Corrections is seeking a Probation Officer to conduct intake interviews, monitor clients' progress, testify in court, supervise probationers, and prepare files and records. A complete job description is available through the link in the posting.

Requirements

• General knowledge of the criminal justice system, human behavior and interventions, case management, domestic violence, substance abuse, mental illness, community resources, and Evidence-Based Practices in community corrections.
• Ability to communicate ideas effectively, orally and in writing.
• Ability to make decisions and interpretations in accordance with established rules, policies, and procedures.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with offenders, stakeholders, and the general public.
• Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, social work, or human services, supplemented by three years of related experience.
• Complete DCJS CORE Training within one year of hire.
• Obtain VCIN certification within six months of hire.
• Complete pre-employment drug testing and a criminal background check, including fingerprinting.
