Requirements

HS or successful completion of GED
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college.
Minimum three (3) years of experience working directly with offenders or defendants.
Must possess or obtain VCIN certification within ninety (90) days of employment.
Must possess a valid driver’s license and must have and maintain a satisfactory driver’s record based on the City of Hampton’s criteria.
Must successfully pass testing for alcohol and controlled substances in accordance with the City of Hampton substance abuse policy.
Must successfully pass a background check prior to any offer of employment or promotion.

Nice To Haves

Degree in Criminal Justice, Public Administration or Corrections preferred.
A combination of education and experience may be considered for this position.

Responsibilities

Provide probation supervision and guidance to individuals referred by the courts.
Support probationers as they work toward positive change.
Help probationers navigate the challenges of reintegration.
Ensure accountability and public safety.
