About The Position

The University of Oregon’s Institute for Policy Research and Engagement (IPRE) is establishing a pool of qualified candidates for periodic pro tem research/project management positions. These roles are funding-contingent, part-time, temporary assignments with an initial appointment of up to one year, potentially renewable for up to three years based on need, funding, and performance. Successful candidates will serve as research assistants, conducting research or managing projects under the guidance of a principal investigator. The institute values professional experience and a commitment to working effectively with diverse students, faculty, and staff. Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Community and Regional Planning, Public Administration, Public Policy, Environmental Studies, or a related field.
  • Ability to efficiently manage complex planning projects/processes.
  • Commitment to justice, equity, inclusion, and diversity.
  • Ability to communicate effectively to varied audiences, both orally and in writing.
  • Understanding of complex long-range planning and development processes and issues.
  • Skills and experience in public outreach, public involvement coordination, public body (elected, appointed, volunteer) liaising, and small group facilitation.
  • Ability to evaluate, comment on, and direct master’s-level student work using formal and informal assessment tools.
  • Professional experience and a commitment to working effectively with students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds.

Nice To Haves
