About The Position

Under the supervision of the General Manager or Assistant Clubhouse Manager, this role is responsible for booking tee times, answering phones, general upkeep of the pro shop, and monitoring playing conditions on the course. The starting rate is $15.00 per hour, with various hours based on facility needs, including nights and weekends.

Requirements

Excellent organizational and communication skills required
Ability to demonstrate effective decision making and problem solving skills
Good knowledge of pertinent safety precautions
Ability to maintain positive and effective working relationships with other employees
At least 2 years experience in a pro shop environment
Must possess a strong understanding of the game of golf including rules, pace of play, and equipment

Responsibilities

Answering phones in a polite manner and directing to the appropriate department
Booking tee times over the phone and answering golf related questions
Monitor the pace of play from within the clubhouse and if necessary take measures to enforce the pace of play with the gapers and customers
Utilization of the tee sheet; making sure that tee times are being booked correctly to utilize the course to its fullest capacity while at the same time monitoring the pace of play and taking any correct actions as they may relate to the tee sheet
General merchandising of the clubhouse – new displays, restocking, pricing
Cleanliness and upkeep of the pro shop
Good math and cash handling skills
CPR and First Aid certified-training conducted by the Elk Grove Park District
Performs the job safely and in compliance with district policies, procedures, work and safety rules
Be familiar with the safe operation of any equipment necessary in accomplishing required tasks
