Pro Sales Associate - Southfield Detroit
About The Position
Behr Paint Company is hiring a Pro Sales Associate to work in a Home Depot store, supporting professional painting contractors and their needs. The associate will build relationships with local contractors, learn about their businesses and upcoming jobs, and follow up on future needs. Working independently and alongside the Home Depot Pro Desk staff, Behr outside sales representatives, and Home Depot employees, the associate will provide contractors with a paint-store-style experience and responsive customer service. When contractors visit the store, the associate will help identify appropriate products, mix paint, gather related tools and supplies, and process orders efficiently. The role also involves entering leads and customer contacts into Salesforce. Behr provides training in paint, sales, and its customer management program; prior paint or sales experience is not required. Work hours vary with peak selling times and may include weekends, holidays, and shifts extending until 7 p.m.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Approachable, outgoing personality and positive attitude.
- Organized and self-starting, with willingness to help where needed.
- Basic computer skills; ability to enter leads and contacts into customer management software.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 75 pounds.
- Willingness to work hours that vary with peak selling times, potentially including weekends, holidays, and shifts extending until 7 p.m.
Nice To Haves
- Prior computer knowledge or experience.
- Bilingual ability.
- Interest in learning about paint and sales; prior paint or sales experience is not required.
Responsibilities
- Introduce yourself to contractors at the Home Depot Pro Desk and learn about their businesses and needs.
- Build and maintain relationships with professional customers and follow up about their jobs and future needs.
- Coordinate with Behr outside sales representatives to serve contractors visiting the store.
- Help customers select suitable products, mix paint, gather paint tools and supplies, and complete orders efficiently.
- Pull and tint orders for pickup.
- Work collaboratively and professionally with Home Depot staff.
- Enter new leads and contacts into Salesforce.
