About The Position

This role is for a Pro Paint Specialist working in a Home Depot store, focusing on the unique needs of professional painting contractors. The specialist will build relationships with local pros, introduce them to Behr products, and provide exceptional customer service. Responsibilities include collaborating with contractors to select the right products, mixing paint, collecting necessary tools, and ensuring a quick and efficient checkout experience, aiming to provide a "paint store experience" within the Home Depot environment. The role also involves supporting the Home Depot Pro Desk and working closely with Behr's outside sales representatives and Home Depot staff.

Requirements

  • Basic computer skills are necessary to use customer management software.
  • An outgoing personality with a positive attitude.
  • Self-starter attitude.
  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • Basic computer skills (prior computer knowledge is a plus).
  • Bilingual knowledge is a bonus.

  • Previous experience or knowledge in paint or sales is not required.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a Home Depot store as a sales specialist focusing on professional painting contractors.
  • Meet and form relationships with local pros who rely on Behr.
  • Build relationships with pros in the store, even if they are initially there for other products.
  • Collaborate with contractors to get exactly the right products for their needs.
  • Mix paint and collect any sundry paint tools they need.
  • Ensure contractors are in and out of the store quickly.
  • Make professional customers feel like they had a paint store experience.
  • Support the Home Depot Pro Desk and introduce yourself to contractors.
  • Get to know contractors, their business, and their needs.
  • Maintain relationships and follow up regarding their jobs and future needs.
  • Work closely with Behr's outside sales reps.
  • Take care of customers when they come into the store, including pulling and tinting orders for pick up.
  • Occasionally lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Work closely with the Home Depot staff, maintaining a professional and helpful vendor relationship.
  • Enter new leads and contacts into Salesforce, the customer relationship management tool.
