As the Parks, Recreation, and Natural Resources (PRNR) Marketing and Outreach Supervisor, you will be responsible for coordinating public communications (verbal, written, visual, and social media) and community outreach programs for the department. This position serves as the lead communications professional for the PRNR Outreach team, overseeing the design and content for a variety of projects, including electronic (e-newsletters, social media campaigns, webpages, videos) and print deliverables (flyers, brochures, guides, booklets, posters, signage). The ideal candidate is experienced in both time and project management, and has a proven proficiency in providing management-level communications strategies for multiple projects and building and maintaining relationships. Communications – Projects Develop and/or manage communications plans, including social media campaigns. Develop and coordinate written, verbal, and electronic communications including media releases, talking points, kiosk content, signage, e-newsletters, social media campaigns, and webpages. Lead various communications projects by developing and tracking plans that support the department’s mission and programs. Partner with PRNR program staff to plan community events, and speaking engagements, and share positive stories that showcase the department's work and build public goodwill. Facilitate the development of content and deliverables for public meetings and community outreach programs. Plan, create, and implement design concepts and layouts using applications such as Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) for a variety of PRNR materials including events and activities guides, capital campaigns, signature event deliverables, annual reports, kiosks, and signage. Lead the development of content in support of long-term strategic communication projects such as annual “Walk in Park”, capital campaigns, and other initiatives. Regularly revise outdated designs and research best practices to remain up to date in marketing efforts. Lead and facilitate publishing and updating the PRNR Events and Activities Guide. Supervision and Management Oversee the day-to-day work of the PRNR Outreach team graphic designers, set a positive tone, and encourage teamwork, enthusiasm, professionalism, and high-quality results. Manage project goals, and timelines and monitor the outcome of communications materials, and adjust as necessary. Serve as a department resource, and lead subject matter expert in marketing/communications needs. Supervise the Digital Media Specialist and Graphic Designer positions within the PRNR Outreach team, review all work produced track designer progress, and ensure deadlines are met. Primary liaison between the PRNR Department and the Communications Department. Maintain the PRNR Constant Contact distribution lists. Maintain and track the status and progress of PRNR Outreach tickets using Smartsheet. Management of County Information and Administrative Duties Maintain and organize graphic files in the (J:) drive. Create/revise SOPs and directional/informational sheets to assist staff in Communications efforts. Communicate with vendors to receive cost estimates and ensure material durability.
