About The Position

This role is intended to be a hybrid position as the employee transitions to a fully licensed Physical Therapist Assistant. Starting as a Physical Therapy Aide, you will be given the opportunity to learn about the profession by working alongside our licensed clinicians to build rapport, motivate, and assist patients during treatment. As an aide you are also responsible for the clinic’s cleanliness and covering receptionist duties as needed. Once fully licensed and transitioned to a Physical Therapist Assistant, the role is responsible for communicating and educating patients, family members, and caregivers on how to best assist with the daily routines. This role gives you the opportunity for interdisciplinary team collaboration working closely with occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, case management team, social workers, nursing staff, and physicians to ensure the best and most evidenced based practice for our patients.

Requirements

  • Basic Life Support Certification from the American Heart Association
  • Graduate of APTA or CAPTE approved physical therapy program to transition to physical therapist role
  • State licensure to transition to physical therapist assistant role

Responsibilities

  • Assist patients during treatment under the guidance of licensed clinicians.
  • Maintain clinic cleanliness.
  • Cover receptionist duties as needed.
  • Communicate and educate patients, family members, and caregivers on how to best assist with daily routines (once licensed as a Physical Therapist Assistant).
  • Collaborate with occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, case management team, social workers, nursing staff, and physicians.
  • Treat 60 patients per week (once licensed).
  • Build and maintain relationships throughout the community.
