About The Position

We are currently seeking a PRN Telemetry Technician to support our Early Phase Clinical Research Unit. In this role, you’ll provide continuous cardiac monitoring and clinical support for research participants enrolled in Phase I clinical trials. This is a PRN, on‑site position, with hours based on study needs, including early mornings, extended hours, and weekends. Working in early‑phase research offers a unique opportunity to combine direct patient care with cutting‑edge clinical science. You’ll play a critical role in monitoring participant safety while contributing to the development of future treatments.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 0-1 year of telemetry experience
  • Prior clinical or patient-care experience preferred (telemetry, cardiac, acute care, or hospital setting ideal)
  • Ability to work in an upright and /or stationary position for 6-8 hours per day
  • Repetitive hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists to operate lab equipment
  • Occasional crouching, stooping, with frequent bending and twisting of upper body and neck
  • Ability to access and use a variety of computer software developed both in-house and off-the-shelf
  • Light to moderate lifting and carrying (or otherwise moves) objects including luggage and laptop computer with a maximum lift of 15-20 lbs
  • Regular and consistent attendance
  • Varied hours may be required
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where no deviations from the study protocol are allowed, and not meeting a timeline for even a few minutes will create a quality issue
  • Comfortable working in an environment with changing priorities that constantly asks you to prioritize and adapt on the spot
  • Teamwork and people skills are essential for the study to run smoothly
  • Comfortable working in a technology-based environment where data is collected directly into an electronic environment

Responsibilities

  • Continuous cardiac monitoring and accurate interpretation of telemetry data
  • Prompt identification and communication of rhythm changes or abnormalities
  • Accurate collection and documentation of vital signs
  • Preparation, placement, and recording of ECGs/Holter monitors
  • Support emergency response procedures per clinical research standards
  • Assist with room setup, equipment preparation, and study readiness
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant clinical environment
  • Support screening and participant monitoring as needed
  • Perform additional duties as required by study protocols
