About The Position
Under the supervision of a registered Pharmacist, the Sr Pharmacy Technician is responsible for assisting in the preparation and distribution of patient medications. Incumbents will assist in maintaining inventory and stock medications throughout the hospital, utilizing pharmacy inventory systems. Incumbents will also assist with daily required review of regulatory paperwork and maintain patient billing records.
Requirements
- High School or equivalent (e.g., GED certification)
- 2 – 4 years prior experience as a Pharmacy Technician
- EMR training
- State or National certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CphT) or acquisition of certification within 60 days of employment
- State licensure as a Pharmacy Technician
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience in the admixing of sterile oncology preparations
- Previous hospital experience is a plus
