About The Position

PRN Registered Nurse - Tier 3, Critical Care Unit. This is a PRN/OCC position with variable hours and shifts at LeConte Medical Center. LeConte Medical Center is a 79-bed community hospital and part of Covenant Health, a regional healthcare network. The hospital provides a full range of health services, including specialists, an ER, and a Women’s Center. The position requires RNs to commit to working hours set by the Tier 3 commitment agreement. The role involves providing professional nursing care within an assigned unit and coordinating care planning with other disciplines.

Requirements

  • Must have and maintain Tennessee State RN licensure.

Nice To Haves

  • RNs with less than 1 year of Nursing experience will complete nursing history and initiate patient education, collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, implement plan of care appropriate to diagnosis, evaluate care outcomes, problem solve and coordinate unit/patient care assignments with supervision, introduce new employees/students to unit routines, participate on unit-based committees, demonstrate competence in performing critical skills, supervise LPNs, Nursing Assistants, HUCs, Techs and sitters, follow policies, procedures, and safety standards, complete required education assignments annually, work toward achieving goals and objectives, and participate in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
  • RNs with 1 or more years of experience are required to correlate patient history and support systems within hospital care/nursing home care, assess learning needs of patient and family, develop and initiate plan of care involving patient and family, recommend interventions, evaluate plan of care, resolve problems regarding moderately complex issues without oversight or supervision, demonstrate willingness to precept employees/students as directed, and review clinical performance of preceptee with unit leader or clinical instructor.

Responsibilities
