The 16-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at South Pointe Hospital treats patients suffering from various conditions that require advanced medical, surgical and cardiac care. As an RN on this team, you will assist fellow caregivers in delivering exceptional care by interacting directly with patients, families, and visitors, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and supply healthcare information as needed. How You’ll Benefit Our Center for Workplace Violence Prevention and Caregiver Well-Being sets caregiver safety as a priority, identifying, reporting and responding to incidents and providing safety resources. A caregiver in this position works PRN (as needed) variable shifts.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN, or BSN)
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross must be presented upon hire or within first year of employment.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
• External applicants: two years of recent experience in an acute care setting
• Internal applicants with less than two years’ experience, but post orientation/90-day probationary period, could be considered with the Chief Nursing Officer level review and approval
• Will consider military RN experience

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans.
• Monitor, record and communicate patients’ conditions.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
