About The Position

This PRN Receptionist position is part of the GSPN Float Pool. The role involves welcoming patients and visitors, managing inquiries, maintaining the reception area, and optimizing patient satisfaction and provider efficiency through effective scheduling. Key responsibilities include keeping appointments on schedule, comforting patients, managing patient accounts and payments, maintaining office supplies, and ensuring the confidentiality of patient information. Responsibilities

  • Welcomes patients and visitors with a greeting.
  • Answers or refers inquiries.
  • Maintains the reception area.
  • Schedules patient appointments in person or by telephone to optimize patient satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization.
  • Keeps patient appointments on schedule by notifying the provider of patient arrivals.
  • Informs providers and patients of delays.
  • Comforts patients by anticipating their anxieties and answering their questions.
  • Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and billing information.
  • Collects and records patient payments.
  • Maintains office supplies and equipment by anticipating needed supplies, placing and expediting orders, and verifying receipt of ordered supplies.
  • Protects patient rights by maintaining the confidentiality of personal and financial information.
  • Maintains operations by following policies and procedures and reporting needed changes.
  • Gets and distributes incoming, outgoing, and inter-office mail.
  • Ensures availability of treatment information by filing and retrieving patient records.
  • Helps patients in distress by responding to emergencies.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
