About The Position

The Vines Hospital, affiliated with Universal Health Services, is a behavioral health facility in Ocala, FL, offering individualized mental health and addiction treatment to adults and adolescents. Services include partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient programs, acute psychiatric, detox, and PTSD treatment. The hospital is seeking Psychiatrists to provide acute crisis stabilization, psychiatric care, and detox services to adults with addiction or mental health issues. The role involves admission evaluations, daily patient care, treatment team leadership, and interaction with administrative and clinical staff.

Requirements

Florida Board certified MD specializing in Psychiatry
2 – 3 years’ patient treatment experience with children, adolescents and adults
Florida License as a Psychiatrist as issued by the Florida Department of Health
Board Eligible/Board Certified in General Psychiatry
Active Florida license or ability to obtain licensure in Florida within 30 days of relocating
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
Position requires good mental attitude
Position demands long hours of sitting with some bending and lifting of supplies, paper, medical records, etc
Some physical confrontation and/or restraint may be necessary when dealing with residents

Responsibilities

Admission evaluations
Daily care of assigned patients in the programs
Treatment team leadership
Interaction with administrative and clinical staff
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook)
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
Good verbal and written communication skills in order to combine assessments, treatment planning and intervention into a meaningful document
Ability to communicate with members of the interdisciplinary treatment team, managed care representatives, children, adolescents, adults and residents’ families in a clear and concise manner
Knowledge of individual, group and family therapy dynamics and techniques as related to cultural, social, economic, communication and role expectations within the family system
Good clinical skills to assess treatment dynamics accurately and develop effective treatment strategies within the context of the overall treatment plan
Ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of the client’s needs, knowledge of growth and development stages and possess an understanding of the range of treatment needed by each age group throughout the life span
