About The Position

MAHEC is now accepting applications for PRN Pharmacy Technicians to support pharmacy coverage needs at all Asheville Community Pharmacy locations. Pharmacy Technicians work collaboratively as an active team member of the interdisciplinary team to provide patient centered care across the continuum. In this role, the goals include providing an excellent patient experience, high quality outcomes, and improved productivity for the team. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: Demonstrates competence in managing various pharmacy workflows and systems including dispensing, pharmacy information systems, and inventory management. Maintains a system for medication storage and security Manages medication recalls and backorders Connects patients to medication assistance resources which includes management of patient assistance program applications through pharmaceutical manufacturers Collaborates with the prior authorizations team Assists pharmacists and other clinicians with medication histories as requested Performs medication refills using a standardized protocol Support learners in the pharmacy department This role description is a general description of the essential job functions. Requirements

• Excellent skills in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and database applications required.
• High school diploma or GED
• Meets all minimum qualifications for Pharmacy technician I
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) license
• One year of pharmacy or clinical experience
• Meets all minimum qualifications for Pharmacy Technician II
• Two years of pharmacy or clinical experience
• Advanced skillset in one of the following: Clinical care: Examples include: refill protocol, medication access, medication reconciliation Retail operations: Examples include: inventory management, 340B analysis, workforce management
• Regular attendance on-site is an essential function of this position.
• All MAHEC employees and learners will be required to receive the Flu vaccine or have an approved exemption.

Nice To Haves

• Spanish speaking skills preferred.
• Graduation from a pharmacy technician training program
• Experience in a pharmacy or clinical setting
• Knowledge and experience documenting patient care in an electronic health record and/or pharmacy dispensing software preferred
