Requirements

  • Licensed Texas Pharmacist
  • Current Pharmacist License in the State of Texas
  • License in good standing with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy (TSBP)
  • Medication dispensing and therapy management
  • Pharmacology expertise
  • Knowledge of FDA, DEA, EPA, and Texas State Board of Pharmacy regulations
  • Legal compliance and documentation standards
  • Process management and operational oversight
  • Strong verbal communication and analytical skills
  • Exceptional clinical and pharmaceutical knowledge
  • Strong ethical standards and professional judgment
  • Excellent communication and patient counseling skills

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing and interpreting physician medication orders
  • Identifying therapeutic incompatibilities and medication concerns
  • Preparing, dispensing, packaging, and labeling prescriptions accurately
  • Monitoring drug therapies and recommending clinical interventions
  • Providing medication counseling and pharmaceutical guidance to patients and healthcare providers
  • Supervising and verifying pharmacy technician workflow, prescription processing, and data entry
  • Maintaining compliance with all FDA, DEA, EPA, federal, state, and Texas State Board of Pharmacy regulations
  • Managing controlled substance accountability and pharmacy inventory
  • Training and mentoring pharmacy staff, interns, externs, residents, and healthcare professionals
  • Supporting infection control standards and maintaining a clean, safe pharmacy environment
  • Staying current with continuing education requirements, industry best practices, and regulatory changes
