This position involves assisting with providing safe, age-appropriate care to patients by performing all exams provided by the department per department protocols. The sonographer must have the knowledge and ability to properly and safely obtain a quality diagnostic study. This role is responsible for performing a wide variety of technical procedures requiring independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative in the utilization of equipment for the diagnosis and/or treatment of diseases. The sonographer must be able to independently perform job functions, set up equipment, and position patients for procedures. The position requires flexibility with work hours to meet department needs and demands dependability, accountability, and cooperation. The role also involves patient care, education, communication, quality control, operations, and equipment management, all while adhering to Wellstar Health System policies and standards.
