About The Position

Advance Community Health (ACH) is seeking a reliable and safety-focused PRN CDL Mobile Healthcare Unit Driver to support the operation of our Mobile Healthcare Program. This position is responsible for safely operating and maintaining a mobile medical vehicle, transporting healthcare staff, equipment, and supplies to various locations throughout the greater Triangle area, and ensuring the unit is prepared for patient services. The PRN Driver will work on an as-needed basis to support scheduled community outreach events, mobile clinic operations, and other organizational initiatives. This role also assists with mobile unit setup, patient support activities, and administrative functions as needed to ensure a positive patient experience and efficient clinic operations.

Requirements

  • High school Diploma or GED.
  • A valid Commercial Driver's License (Class B).
  • Clean driving record required.
  • Must have a minimum of 6 months recent qualified CDL-B driving experience to apply.
  • Represent the company professionally while interacting with clients and the public.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience driving mobile healthcare, commercial, specialty, or passenger-service vehicles.
  • Experience supporting community outreach programs, healthcare services, or public events.
  • Basic knowledge of vehicle safety and maintenance procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate the mobile medical unit, adhering to traffic laws and company policies.
  • Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, ensuring the unit is safe and operational.
  • Maintain the vehicle's cleanliness and ensure adequate fuel, water, and other supplies are on board.
  • Coordinate with maintenance staff for routine servicing and repairs.
  • Report any mechanical issues or incidents to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Maintain required vehicle logs, mileage records, fuel reports, and inspection documentation.
  • Assist patients, visitors, and staff entering and exiting the mobile healthcare unit as needed.
  • Support patient flow by greeting patients, directing visitors, and assisting with registration and check-in processes.
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment within the mobile unit.
  • Ensure equipment and supplies are properly secured during transport and ready for use upon arrival.
  • Assist with setup and breakdown of mobile clinic and community outreach events, including tents, tables, chairs, signage, and related equipment.
  • Support inventory management by monitoring and reporting supply needs.
  • Identify and report unsafe conditions or hazards at mobile clinic sites and community event locations.
  • Participate in required trainings, staff meetings, and safety initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the success of mobile healthcare operations.
