About The Position

The primary purpose of this job position is to provide each of your assigned residents with routine daily care and services in accordance with the resident’s assessment and care plan, and as may be directed by your supervisors. This role involves creating and maintaining a warm, positive, and calm environment, while ensuring residents receive attentive and personalized care.

Requirements

  • High school education or its equivalent.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite products.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Must be proficient in the Microsoft Suite products.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Prolonged use of a desktop or laptop computer.
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk and talk, read or hear.
  • Frequent use of all office-related equipment to include; copier/scanner/fax, telephone, and calculator.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of all resident care information including protected health information.
  • Perform only those care tasks that you have been trained to do.
  • Use only the equipment you have been trained to use.

Responsibilities

  • Provide routine daily care and services to assigned residents according to their assessment and care plan.
  • Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ALDS), including meals, personal hygiene (dental and mouth care, bathing, hair care, dressing/undressing), and toileting.
  • Ensure residents are clean and dry, changing clothing and linens as needed.
  • Assist residents with mobility, including lifting, turning, positioning, and transporting them using appropriate equipment.
  • Assist residents in preparing for medical tests, examinations, and post-mortem care.
  • Monitor residents' condition, observe for skin breakdowns, pressure areas, and injuries, and report any changes or concerns to supervisors promptly.
  • Maintain resident comfort by making beds, adjusting covers, and ensuring they are in comfortable positions.
  • Keep residents' water pitchers clean and filled with fresh water within their reach.
  • Perform after-meal care, including removing trays and cleaning residents' hands, face, and clothing.
  • Assist residents with packing personal possessions for transfers or discharges and transport them as needed.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of resident care information and report any suspected or known violations.
  • Report all complaints, grievances, and allegations of resident abuse or misappropriation of property.
  • Honor resident's refusal of treatment requests and report them to supervisors.
  • Use only trained equipment and report defective equipment to supervisors.
  • Maintain a positive and calm environment throughout the unit and shift.
  • Participate in nursing reports and follow established policies and procedures.
  • Record all entries on notes, SPAs, and incident reports in an informative and descriptive manner.
  • Report all accidents and incidents observed.
  • Greet residents, escort them to rooms, and introduce them to others.
  • Inventory and mark residents' personal possessions and store their clothing.
  • Assist with loading/unloading residents to/from vehicles as necessary.
  • Weigh and measure residents, and record vital signs (TPRs) as instructed.
  • Provide eye and ear care as instructed.
  • Utilize protective and adaptive equipment as instructed.
  • Perform restorative and rehabilitative procedures as instructed.
  • Ensure residents who are unable to call for help are checked frequently.
  • Answer resident calls promptly.
  • Check residents routinely to ensure personal care needs are met.
  • Assist with the care of end-of-life residents.
  • Notify the facility when late or absent from work.
  • Report occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, and hazardous chemicals.
  • Shave male residents and maintain hair on female residents as instructed.
