About The Position

McGuire Woods' nationally recognized Private Wealth Services Practice Group is seeking a talented associate to join its team. This is an exceptional opportunity to work alongside experienced practitioners on sophisticated matters for high-net-worth individuals, families, closely held businesses, and charitable organizations. Our Private Wealth Services Practice Group advises clients on the full spectrum of estate planning, trust and estate administration, business succession planning, and fiduciary matters. The group also maintains a robust practice representing public charities, private foundations, and charitable trusts. Associates in the group gain meaningful experience across complex tax, estate planning, trust administration, and business planning matters — with direct client interaction from an early stage. This position offers the opportunity to work directly with Michael Barker and Bill Sanderson, who co-lead the Private Wealth Services Practice Group. Both are highly regarded practitioners with deep experience in sophisticated estate and business planning matters, fiduciary advisory services, and tax-related issues. The team's leadership in the field and both partners' involvement in academic instruction and thought leadership reflects the caliber of work and mentorship available to associates in the group. At McGuire Woods, associates in Private Wealth Services are entrusted with substantive responsibilities early in their careers, working on complex and intellectually challenging matters while receiving hands-on mentorship from nationally recognized practitioners. We offer a collegial environment that values professional development, client service, and excellence. McGuire Woods, one of the world’s leading law firms, has provided legal solutions to corporate, individual and nonprofit clients since 1834. Along with excellent benefits, McGuire Woods offers our attorneys a competitive salary with hours and merit bonus opportunities and billable hours credit for pro bono work. Continually establishing new initiatives and enhancing existing efforts, we focus on meaningful support for our lawyers in their careers.
