About The Position

A leading national law firm is seeking an experienced Private Wealth Associate to join its sophisticated private wealth practice. The firm is open to considering candidates across its U.S. offices, including a fully virtual office, with particular interest in candidates located in Dallas, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Milwaukee, Nashville, or St. Louis. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with a strong background in estate planning and private wealth matters to work alongside attorneys across multiple offices and contribute to sophisticated client engagements involving high-net-worth individuals, families, and their businesses.

Requirements

  • 4–8 years of relevant legal experience, preferably in private wealth, trusts and estates, or a closely related practice.
  • Prior law firm experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with sophisticated estate planning and drafting.
  • Experience with trust and estate administration.
  • Knowledge of estate and gift tax matters.
  • Experience with charitable planning.
  • Excellent academic credentials.
  • Exceptional judgment and strong analytical abilities.
  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines effectively.
  • The ability to work well under pressure.
  • A proactive, dynamic, and entrepreneurial approach to client service.
  • An active bar license in the state corresponding to the office where the candidate will practice, or a commitment to obtain admission as soon as possible.

Responsibilities

  • Advise and assist clients with a broad range of private wealth matters, including sophisticated estate planning and document drafting.
  • Trust and estate administration.
  • Federal and state estate and gift tax matters.
  • Charitable planning and related strategies.
  • Developing and implementing wealth transfer and succession planning strategies.
  • Conducting legal research and analysis involving complex trusts and estates issues.
  • Drafting and reviewing sophisticated legal documents and planning instruments.
  • Collaborating with attorneys across multiple offices and practice areas.
  • Managing multiple client matters while maintaining high standards of quality and responsiveness.
  • Communicating legal strategies and recommended courses of action clearly and effectively.
