About The Position

The Private Wealth Advisor III, Business Development & Advisory Services is responsible for sourcing and developing new client relationships and opportunities to create revenue growth in the department, primarily through sophisticated financial and estate planning for trust/asset management clients and prospects, either alone or in conjunction with internal team members and the client’s legal and financial advisors. The position includes establishing and maintaining professional relationships with centers of influence, including trust & estate attorneys, CPAs and financial advisors as referral sources for new business. This position will also manage sourced client relationships and other client relationships, as assigned. This position will manage assigned relationships consistent with our client service standards. This position will assist those navigating the often-complex personal financial landscape and will advise on how to plan their finances, typically using services such as investment management, formal financial planning, and tax consulting. This position proactively responds to client questions and completes special projects, as needed and assigned. The role also prepares necessary documents to maintain account compliance and performs annual account reviews. The Private Wealth Advisor III, Business Development & Advisory Services will work closely with the administrative support team and Middle Office as appropriate to provide efficient and effective onboarding of new relationships and high-quality service for existing clients.

Requirements

  • At least eight years of successful Private Client sales experience including relationship management required, including experience managing fiduciary responsibilities and planning based sales models, is preferred
  • Experience with account compliance and risk mitigation responsibilities preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of Trust and Estate and Wealth Planning
  • Strong understanding of asset allocation and goal based investment management
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage high profile client relationships
  • Demonstrated ability to follow written and oral instructions
  • Demonstrated ability to network and build referral partners
  • Demonstrated ability to make sound and effective decisions

Nice To Haves

  • College degree in Business Management, Marketing, Sales, Finance, Investments, or other Business related field preferred
  • Advanced degree, such as an MBA or JD, is preferred.
  • Certifications such as Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Certified Trust & Fiduciary Advisor (CTFA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) (or other industry certifications) are strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provides relationship management and administration of our client's investment accounts including regular proactive client communication and advisory services, and includes daily account administration and necessary compliance, in coordination with Private Wealth administrative support team
  • Develops new and expanded client relationships and assist to expand client relationship reach to other departments within the Bank
  • Develops and maintains professional relationships with referral network of trust and estate attorneys, CPAs, and financial advisors
  • Proactively shares and promotes new ideas to support process improvements and changes to team processes
  • Occasional and periodic speaking engagements, both internal and external, related to industry related topics and current trends
  • Prepares materials for client and prospect presentations, meetings, and reviews
  • Conducts joint calling with other Private Wealth Advisors, Private Banking Officers, BTC Capital Management Officers, and other Bank staff as required for discharge of responsibilities
  • Assists team members in the department and may serve to assist on special projects or committees within the department to provide technical expertise and guidance to best serve our clientele and/or to improve our processes and procedures
  • Performs other duties as assigned
