About The Position

A family in Austin, Texas, is seeking an exceptional secondary educator to design and deliver a highly personalized, one-to-one educational program for a 15-year-old learner with dyslexia. The family recently relocated from the United Kingdom and wants an educational partner who can build on the student’s prior learning while helping establish a clear, sustainable path through the remaining secondary years. The educator will create a purposeful learning environment shaped around the student’s needs, strengths, goals, interests, and input. The role combines teaching with careful planning, accessible instruction, and a consistent daily rhythm. The program should provide meaningful academic challenges while allowing flexibility in pacing, materials, assessment, and scheduling. The teacher will work with Thrive’s Education Manager, who will guide the broader educational plan, curriculum selection, assessment systems, and progress review. Together, they will help the family understand educational options and maintain a coherent record of learning. The student has a UK educational background and is listed by the family as being in 10th grade. After a period outside consistent formal schooling, the initial priority is to establish trust, understand current skills, and develop a manageable routine that supports steady progress toward long-term goals. The family values an education that respects prior learning and keeps future options open, with purposeful assessment and practical evidence of growth while minimizing unnecessary examinations. This is a full-time private teacher placement in a personalized home learning setting in Austin. The position serves one learner, with weekdays, instructional hours, planning allocation, exact teaching area, and the customized calendar to be finalized with the family. The target start is early December 2026 for acclimation and relationship-building, with a fuller program launch in January 2027.
