About The Position

Musicologie is seeking an expert musician who loves introducing people of all ages to music. The ideal candidate is friendly, warm, a great communicator, and excited to help students overcome challenges. Musicologie values the time and attention musicians put into their craft and understands the importance of the student-teacher relationship. They have created a community-focused organization of musicians and music lovers dedicated to delivering delightful music lessons to all ages and abilities through the Musicologie Method (rooted in creating a safe environment and education through play), a Philosophy of Education that emphasizes everyone deserves a great teacher, training, shadowing, clear upward mobility, and innovative programs and technology. Teachers will work with students of all ages and abilities, helping them identify goals and progress through curriculum. The role involves being a friendly guide on their musical journey and encouraging community involvement through performances and group classes. Teachers will dedicate themselves to learning the company's philosophy, curriculum, and processes, be committed to delivering outstanding lesson experiences, and collaborate with other teachers and managers.

Requirements

• An excellent musician.
• Excited to help students of all ages and abilities become passionate, proficient musicians.
• An expert communicator in person and by email.
• Extremely organized.
• Self motivated.
• Curious and inspired to learn new things.
• Able to work evening hours.
• A bachelor’s degree in your instrument, or equivalent experience.
• Teaching experience on your instrument.
• Experience working with kids and families.

Responsibilities

• Work with students of all ages and abilities as they identify their goals and progress through curriculum related to those goals.
• Serve as a friendly guide on students' musical journeys.
• Encourage community involvement through performances and group classes.
• Dedicate yourself wholeheartedly to learning our philosophy of education, curriculum and processes.
• Be committed to delivering an outstanding lesson experience to every family and student.
• Collaborate with other Musicologie teachers and managers to elevate everyone’s capabilities.
