Private Music Teacher (Guitar)
About The Position
Musicologie Austin is looking for Guitar teachers, with multi-instrumentalists especially encouraged. We are a new studio that opened in November 2025 and we are growing fast! At Musicologie, we value the time and attention you have put into your craft and know how important the student-teacher relationship is. We’ve created an exciting community-focused organization full of musicians and music lovers who are dedicated to delivering simply delightful music lessons to all ages and abilities. We do this through: The Musicologie Method, which is rooted in creating a safe environment and education through play; Our Philosophy of Education that starts with the idea that everyone deserves a great teacher; Training, shadowing, and clear upward mobility for all of our teachers; and Innovative programs and technology that make teaching and learning exciting, fostering a collaborative community of teachers excited about music and their job!
Requirements
- An excellent musician.
- Excited to help students of all ages and abilities become passionate, proficient musicians.
- An expert communicator in person and by email.
- Extremely organized.
- Self motivated.
- Curious and inspired to learn new things.
- Able to work evening and/or weekend hours.
- A bachelor’s degree in your instrument, or equivalent experience.
- Teaching experience on your instrument.
- Experience working with kids and families.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
Nice To Haves
- Multi-instrumentalists especially encouraged.
- Also play piano or sing well enough to teach beginners.
Responsibilities
- Work with students of all ages and abilities as they identify their goals and progress through curriculum related to those goals.
- Be a friendly guide on their musical journey.
- Encourage community involvement through performances and group classes.
- Dedicate yourself wholeheartedly to learning our philosophy of education, curriculum and processes.
- Be committed to delivering an outstanding lesson experience to every family and student.
- Collaborate with other Musicologie teachers and managers to elevate everyone’s capabilities.
