About The Position

Musicologie Austin is seeking Brass teachers for their growing studio, which opened in November 2025. The ideal candidate is an expert musician, passionate about introducing music to all ages, and proficient in playing trumpet, French horn, trombone, euphonium, or tuba. They should be friendly, warm, an excellent communicator, and eager to support students through challenges. Musicologie fosters a community of musicians dedicated to providing delightful music lessons through the Musicologie Method (education through play in a safe environment), a philosophy that everyone deserves a great teacher, training and upward mobility, innovative programs and technology, and a collaborative teacher community.

Requirements

Expert musician.
Proficiency in trumpet, French horn, trombone, euphonium, or tuba.
Excellent communication skills in person and by email.
Extremely organized.
Self-motivated.
Curious and inspired to learn new things.
Able to work evening and/or weekend hours.
A bachelor’s degree in your instrument, or equivalent experience.
Teaching experience on your instrument.
Experience working with kids and families.
Legal authorization to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

Work with students of all ages and abilities to identify their goals and progress through related curriculum.
Act as a friendly guide on students' musical journeys.
Encourage community involvement through performances and group classes.
Dedicate yourself wholeheartedly to learning Musicologie's philosophy of education, curriculum, and processes.
Be committed to delivering an outstanding lesson experience to every family and student.
Collaborate with other Musicologie teachers and managers to elevate everyone's capabilities.
